Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my order?
Orders are instantaneous as we only sell digital products. If you didn't receive an email or pop-up to download your files immediately, send us an email below.
Is this a Kontakt library?
Not at the moment. The Kontakt 7 version of the library is still in development. Release date TBA.
Will this work in my DAW?
Yes. Our libraries and Decent Sampler are compatible on all operating systems.
I'm in Reaper and can't access the C-2 keyswitch.
There are two MIDI standards that define Middle C, and they are one octave apart. Our virtual guitars abide by the standard that Decent Sampler and Kontakt Player uses, which begins at C-2. Whereas some DAW's and other applications use the other standard, which begins at C-1.
What this means is that when importing MIDI from an application that uses the other MIDI standard, you will have to select the whole MIDI item, and transpose it up by 1 octave to compensate.
Also, if you are using our MIDI guitars in a DAW that uses the other MIDI standard, then everything in that DAW's piano roll will correspond to one octave lower in Kontakt Player's piano roll. This is the case in Reaper for example, where C1 in its piano roll will trigger the C0 key in Kontakt Player.
Likewise, C-1 (the lowest key in Reaper's MIDI piano roll) will trigger the C-2 key in Kontakt Player.
Basically, it is just a numbering and naming difference between the two MIDI standards. You can still utilize all the features in our MIDI guitars.
You can offset the piano roll display in Reaper so they are correct. Reaper Preferences> Media> Midi> Note Name Display Offset and you would want to set it at -1 but you can try different numbers if it’s still off.
Why is this just DI and no tones?
Tone is subjective just like music. We don’t want to decide YOUR tone for you, but give you a
tool that was authentically and uniquely made to get a tone that YOU want. Libraries or updates may include this in the future if popular by demand.
Potential fixes for crashing.
If you're an Ableton or MAC user, you could experience crashing for a few reasons.
Here are a few starting points:
- Make sure Decent Sampler is loaded as a "Stereo" plugin or insert.
- If you're in Ableton, make sure you're using the VST3 option for Decent Sampler.
- Check your preferences in Decent Sampler by going to, File>Preferences>Engine> and check "RAM" instead of "Disk Streaming". This forces Decent Sampler to use RAM memory to load samples, which is more efficient for your CPU.
- Make sure you have not moved any files from where you installed the sample library.
- Try downloading a previous version of Decent Sampler. Go to their site and navigate to the download page and look for "Past Versions" and download version 1.11.3 or 1.11.13 of Decent Sampler. Both of those versions are the most stable for Axure version 1.0.4.
