I originally downloaded Axure so I could continue to write music while recovering from a major arm injury that left me unable to play guitar for about 6 months. Even after my recovery, I found myself using Axure constantly when I wanted to write some stuff at the office where I'm unable to bring my guitar in. My band has even used Axure on our final products due to loving the control and overall sound we were able to achieve.
By far, the best use for Axure is to overcome writer's block. As a guitarist, it's easy to fall into the habit of using the same chords, the same shapes, and the same tunings that we grow fond of. Once I started using Axure, I would write a riff on it, then pick up my guitar and learn to play it--or to even find out if it was playable or not. This has allowed me to write the music I hear in my head, rather than the music I know how to play with my hands. The creativity boost and process is massively streamlined, and It's all because of a COMPETENT and REALISTIC sounding guitar MIDI, created by one of the best guitarists/Riffmasters out there.
I highly suggest to pick it up. The ability to write guitar parts on the go and even transpose those parts with no quality loss is an absolute game changer for anyone that works inside "the box".
